When you buy or spin beautiful yarn, you want to use the best equipment with it. I wanted to make something that would be sturdy and long lasting, but something that had both beautiful form and was functional at the same time. And here it is. An exquisite piece of craftsmanship, that will make the job of winding up skeins a joy.
It is made out of hand selected woods and is designed to spin freely on a brass center spindle. This eliminates binding during use. The swift comes with 5 pegs (one is extra) and a bag to keep them together when not in use. The pegs are designed with a gentle curve, which hugs the skein of yarn as the swift revolves, helping to prevent slipping. It also has a pair of Nylon washers to facilitate smooth rotation.
The swift has rubber feet on the base, which protects the surface it stands on and prevents it from sliding around while in use. The swift will accommodate skeins from 24″ to 72″ in circumference. These are marked on one of the arms for easy setup. The swift folds up neatly when not in use, for easy storage.
None of my swifts are stained. They come with a clear Lacquer finish and just need the occasional dusting for upkeep.
This is a wood product, variation in grain and color are normal. There may also be dark or light streaks or small imperfections, that is the nature of wood. Please take this into consideration prior to ordering.
Approx folded size: 3″ x 5.5″ x 28.5″
